long weekend

Had a long weekend... I can't say it was really restful even though I did spend quite a bit of time screwing around. I think it's the things I 'need' to do looming over my head. Dishes, cat litter, laundry, chores, and damn dirty chores too!

I did have some fun helping Dad & his neighbor Rexx hanging new gutters on his house. More pics over on his blog entry for the day. It was fun b/c me and Rexx made jokes at Dad's expense. It was fun for us. I got to do pop-riveting again, which I haven't done since junior high school metal shop. I got to it pretty easily though, the rivet gun was a bit rusty though and stuck often.

Pooks and I spent time on Sunday cleaning and working. Well I cleaned and she worked. Well, by cleaning I mean I shuffled stuff around without really "cleaning". Full of sound & fury (&dust) but not much after that. I did find the broom though, it's been missing for a week now, so things have gotten dusty.

Cleaning for Christmas

Jennifer and Eve came over and helped me with getting things ready for Christmas. We've got the tree up and lights on it. We'll wait until Maggie gets home to decorate it. I want to make sure she is part of the process.

I am pretty tired now. It's been a very long week with moving last weekend and taking a day off I've had to make it up, so I've been working 9+ hr days. It has just killed me for today.

I'm gonna go nap for a little bit (or maybe sip some tea on the porch) then I have a large amount of presents to wrap still.

The gift that Shanks gave us is the first one underneath the tree.
