It's been a while...

I just looked at my own blog for the first time in a while. Oberon is no longer with us. He died of kidney failure three weeks after we got him. Me & Pooks were really sad about it. We're looking into new dogs now though, hopefully we'll find one that fits us.

One funny thing that happened while we had Obe... Our backyard neighbor's dog came running into our yard, he'd gotten loose somehow, and of course ran up to check out Obe. He then went around the yard marking everything and just checking things out. It was a male boxer and he had a cold too, his nose was runny. He got next to Pooks who'd been petting & showing him some affection, when he did the barrel roll shake and flung droll and snot all over the place. Pooks had this look of absolute horror that she might get some on her. She squealed and shrieked, and the dog stopped and just looked at her like, "What's your problem?".

I found a friend of mine is unexpectedly pregnant.

I started guitar lessons. I'm having a blast learning it. I need to get a metronome to work on my timing. I still haven't tried riding the motorcycle with the guitar on my back yet... :-)

Speaking of motorcycles, I've been riding just about everywhere recently. I'm really having a blast and hating stop lights. I have also started using my head phones while riding, It's nice to be able to have background music.

Work is stressed, no one knows what's going on and things are seriously confused. The migration to the new system is progressing miserably and has seriously failed. I haven't heard of a single success story. So our IT transition, failed, my job, who knows.

On a good note, Pooks & I seem to have found a church we like. Avondale UMC, it's well lit, they keep the AC low, the stain glass is nice, and the pastor must have ADD. He was all over the place during the sermon on Sunday. He made an analogy between the sacrifice of William Walace in Braveheart and the sacrifice of Jesus. It's the first time I've ever heard "eviscerate" in church. :-) I thought it was great. Pooks and I are definitely coming back. We also like that church starts at 11am so we can sleep late.
