la la la....

Another Friday! I guess it really shouldn't matter, if I enjoyed my work more then I would hate Fridays/end of the work week.... a discussion for later on.

Playing Warcraft a lot lately. I got my warrior to level 70 in a one-day 11 hour push from level 68. I had fun doing it but it was definitely not something I would enjoy doing again!

I had a much-needed revelation from my spurgeon email list. I was fussing about money and the message the popped in my in box and I looked at the header and I KNEW, "God's sending me a reality-check". And yes that's exactly what it was. The message was: "The barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse(bottle?) of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which He spake by
Elijah." --1 Kings 17:16

Basically, don't worry about what will come b/c God will give you what you need to survive. Not what you want or what you think you need, but exactly what you really need to survive. So God is giving me the things I need to survive and I shouldn't worry about anything else... but I do sometimes when I am weak and human.

Did my taxes this week with a pleasant surprise in the amount I am getting back. It will got to paying off a credit card, God gave me a way out of a part of my debt. Why do I claim it's God and not just a fluke of law or the IRS. All good things come from God, and I am pretty sure the this is a good thing on many levels so He is the most likely source of it. (Like my extremely simple logic? ;-) )

Some things burn for a long time...

Ugh I'm rebuilding my PC's harddrive tonight. Long installs of software I installed a short time ago. It sucked the first time and now the second time, well, it is just monotonous.

I got to talk with Becky today. We had a blast as usual. She fussed at me for not having enough myspace friends. Oh well... I fussed at hers for her pictures hehehe. We always have a good time talking.

Got a big meeting tomorrow at work. Hopefully it will go well. I can't say I am super prepared, but things should go well. I think I am "bored" with work, not that it's not challenging, but it is just not stretching me in the ways I want to go. Throw in the political machinations of the various groups moving around and trying for a piece of our department as things are moved around, and it just makes for a "fun" job situation.

For want of a day off...

Didn't want to come in to work today... It was a hard fight to get here... bed and wow called... it's also a grey, cloudy and dreary day, perfect stay-in-bed weather. I got showered and come on in with Pooks.

I started a To-Do list blog. Hehehe, it's funny. I'm showing off the daily things I want to/need to get done. I added Pooks as an editor too so we can both add things. I'll just cross things off as I complete them and add a date... It'll be interesting to see how well I can keep it up and also how fast we get things done... I did a google document for this a while ago, but I like this better. Maybe it's the show-off in me. I like it though and I hope to be adding more to it in the coming days.

Had a big fight with Jenn a couple of days ago. :-( We were both really upset and I didn't realize until talking/fighting with her how stressed out I have been. I feel a lot better now though, letting it all out made me feel a lot better. I'm sorry we had to fight about something for me to get it all out though.

Also, Eve got married this weekend. She'll be back from her honeymoon tomorrow sometime. I had a good time dancing it up at the reception.

First new crown goes in tomorrow. I'll post a picture. :-)

Feel the Pain...

... is a song by Dinosaur Jr. and alt-rock band from the 90's... It's one of those songs I like to listen too over and over again.

The Jeep is fixed... well at least the brakes on it are fixed. It's leaking oil from a front seal... we looked when it was up on the lift and the gasket was being pushed out from the inside all around the front of the engine. I really don't know what these things are called... I think I'm gonna leave computers and become a mechanic.

In other news it's the Year of the Rat and Ash Wednesday. Happy Chinese New Year! I'm an Ox according to the Chinese zodiac, but I'll still celebrate it anyway. A friend of mine was surprised that I would follow any zodiac, much less the Chinese one. To me it's just an excuse to eat chinese food and hang out with the family.

Here is Eve with the stick after eating "rat on a stick":

new car choices

The oil light comes on and it makes a ding noise. Only when we're stopping. It dings a lot of times to, and it is very annoying. That's what's happening to the van, it has enough oil in it, checked that, it just dings... it means somethings wrong but I don't know what.

The jeep has grinding brakes. That turned out to be a frozen caliper, locking up half of the brakes when breaking... ouch another repair bill that hurt.

So car problems have again topped my worries list. We've been "triming the fat" in what we spend money on but with car problems eating away we're just not saving anymore than we're spending. ugh.

There's not a lot I can do about it now though. We need the cars to get around and going in two different directions (school, work) it helps to have two. So we're thinking about trading one in to get a new one.

I think I should fix up the bycicle, then I just have to worry about brakes and flats.
