Blah day

A dark cloudy day that didn't start out well... just a blah day.

Forgotten Laundry

Forgetting the laundry means I'm sitting here half-naked waiting for my pants to finish in the dryer.

On another note, stage one of moving around at work went well. Now onto stage two.

I'm also looking for a corncob pipe. It'll be part of my farmer Bob Halloween costume! Helen and I are going to get some bales of hay and spread them around the drive way. We'll pull our rockers up from the back and sit back and relax while giving out candy to the kids/adults/aliens. It should be fun.

Another Rainy Monday...

It's nice and drizzly outside now. I can't really see the other side of the river due to the haze and rain. Makes me want to go home.

I'm really tired for some reason too. Not sure why I know I slept well and went to bed early even. I have been having trouble getting to sleep lately. I'm a night-owl most days, but this is different, more worrying or something. No real reason for it then.

We had a good weekend Maggie was home so we had nice family time. We did have a rude awakening Sunday night though, we had $30 more on our phone bill thanks to text messages going to Maggies phone. She's going to have to work it off for us b/c she doesn't have a real job to pay for it. It really pisses me off though, since it means we have to keep after her to get that shit done for a week or more. I don't want to and I'm pretty sure Helen doesn't either.

need more coffee....

Sleepy, but awake, sometimes I feel like I can fall asleep just about anywhere, and probably could. Drinking coffee but it's not helping.

Bought a new tv this weekend.

New TV picture

It is the second tv I have ever bought. I'm very happy with it. I'm using a playstation 2 as the DVD player. It's a good dual-use device. For some reason I was in a spending mood this weekend.

I got a chance to talk with a friend from G'ville yesterday and it was great. I hadn't talked with her in a long time and I'm glad we got a chance to catch-up.

I've been working on an application to categorize images based on tags and also to change the size of the tags based on the popularity of the tag (where popularity is simply a measure of the number of clicks an image receives). I'm having a lot of fun working on it, but I'm getting to the last bits of code clean-up and it's a real pain.

I'll post more when I've got something for download... Although, you can see the results at http://rdex.net/image_tagger/browse.php

Pooks is healing well, she's back at work today. She's working back at her old office, but doing her own work, so that she's around people. It helps her work.

Back to normal life...

Pooks' surgery went well. (She had it on Thursday.) She was stressed but spent most of the time asleep. I was stressed but spent my time awake and waiting. Jennifer was there with me and we passed the time by walking and talking. We were in the little "room" waiting for Pooks when they brought her back. I was slightly surprised that they had her on oxygen when they brought her in, not in a good way either. I had always associated the oxygen tubes with old people who couldn't breath... patients on their way out, but still be kept alive by modern medicine. So I was surprised, but she came in & out of consciousness and I held her hand and soon was more awake. I was ready to sleep by then though. The nurse had turned down the lights and I was sitting there and it was just the two of us and I finally started to relax. Eventually we both had to start moving around to wake up and were out of the hospital, in only 7 hours.

Friday I was dead tired still. Being tense for a whole day doesn't make for a good next day. It was rough and I wasn't the most productive for that day. This weekend too, I spent my time playing WoW and just not "doing" much of anything. In some way I needed the time to space-out. Pooks is recovering well too, she's up and about easily, still gets tired fast though, but she's not having any problems/complications from the surgery itself.

Surreal

This weekend has been kinda surreal. Friday night I stayed up way late playing WoW (alterac valley honor weekend.) Got up early Saturday morning and watched the War series by Ken Burns. We had watched teh first episode already but skipped the others until Sat Morning. Watching three in a row was something else. I tried to play more Wow but was too tired and went to sleep for a while. I got up and Helen and I had a nice candle-lit dinner outside where we cooked skewers over our little fire-pit. It was a very nice night and we both had a great time.

Sunday we had breakfast with Eve and saw the movie "Resident Evil: Extinction" It was decent, not great but decent. If you liked the first one, this one is better. More zombies and a lot more ass kicking. I liked the new white queen, I want my computer to do that.
Hint the computer is the little girl in the white dress.

I spent most of the afternoon working or trying to work. It was difficult to stay focused.

I woke up this morning having a bad dream. I dreamt that I was getting a tatoo of some dolphins playing in the surf under the setting sun. The problem was the guy giving me the tattoo was using an old razor blade dipped in ink to do it and his girl friend was helping and she just had a hunk of metal dipped ink that she was scraping my skin with. It was disturbing, so I'm up early on a rainy Monday morning thinking of the week ahead, (Helen has her surgery) and the work I need to do and feeling a slight twinging in my shoulder.
