Blah day
A dark cloudy day that didn't start out well... just a blah day.

Forgetting the laundry means I'm sitting here half-naked waiting for my pants to finish in the dryer.
It's nice and drizzly outside now. I can't really see the other side of the river due to the haze and rain. Makes me want to go home.
Sleepy, but awake, sometimes I feel like I can fall asleep just about anywhere, and probably could. Drinking coffee but it's not helping.

Pooks' surgery went well. (She had it on Thursday.) She was stressed but spent most of the time asleep. I was stressed but spent my time awake and waiting. Jennifer was there with me and we passed the time by walking and talking. We were in the little "room" waiting for Pooks when they brought her back. I was slightly surprised that they had her on oxygen when they brought her in, not in a good way either. I had always associated the oxygen tubes with old people who couldn't breath... patients on their way out, but still be kept alive by modern medicine. So I was surprised, but she came in & out of consciousness and I held her hand and soon was more awake. I was ready to sleep by then though. The nurse had turned down the lights and I was sitting there and it was just the two of us and I finally started to relax. Eventually we both had to start moving around to wake up and were out of the hospital, in only 7 hours.
This weekend has been kinda surreal. Friday night I stayed up way late playing WoW (alterac valley honor weekend.) Got up early Saturday morning and watched the War series by Ken Burns. We had watched teh first episode already but skipped the others until Sat Morning. Watching three in a row was something else. I tried to play more Wow but was too tired and went to sleep for a while. I got up and Helen and I had a nice candle-lit dinner outside where we cooked skewers over our little fire-pit. It was a very nice night and we both had a great time.
