Life....

Well Patti's gotten herself in trouble again. Mainly by being stupid, not much I can do about it. (See dad's blog for details) So I'm both frustrated with her and annoyed that she'd do something stupid like this. I thought she knew better.

On a much happier note, Pooks is selling t-shirts like a mad woman! Her shirt site (www.ccandperl.com) is doing well and she's put up new designs. I got her the domain last night and as a special deal, I picked up the chinese domain name too! www.ccandperl.cn "CN" is the internet country code for China. So I figure eventually we'll make a fortune cookie site out of it or something. I surprised her with it though so it was totally worth it!

Maggie came home last night too. Yay! It is cool that she's back around and we can hang out and stuff. I sang her "Old Grumbler".

Boredom + unmoving cat + scissors = fur fun

I was trying to play games on my computer and one of our five cats would not move off the keyboard. She was sleeping in front of me and rolling around a little, and kept pushing on the keyboard when she did. I was kinda bored with my game and I saw a knot of hair on her chin. Snip, snip, knot taken care of... snip snip, and she started purring. Oh the kitty likes getting snipped! So some more snipping ensued and now we have a slightly patchy cat. No cats were harmed during this, but she's a little bald in a patch.

I've gotten into a reading mood. I can tell b/c I've been actively avoiding the tv room and also video games (a little). My mind is wanting brain food. Sci-Fi should be good, as well as something stimulating. So I plan to hit the local used bookstore for a reading frenzy. My librarian sister(Hi Eve!) gets onto me for not having a library card... oh well ;-) I should get one, but I just haven't yet.

I've been thinking about getting into the Pokemon-craze, but I'm not there yet.

Not there yet...

Me and a friend had a long lunch time talk about the eternal, "What do I want to do when I grow up?" or at least what to do with my life now. I've been getting the urge to change, but to where or what I don't know. A lot of times, my brain runs on over-drive with ideas and possibilities, narrowing that down, holding onto one and finishing it is much more difficult. I am just not sure.

sick & concerned

I am coming down with a cold. I figured it out yesterday after I came home cleaned up for half an hour and then slept for and hour and woke up with a runny nose & sneezing. It sucks.

I've got some interesting stuff happenning at work too. It's both annoying and confusing.

I heard this morning on NPR (Michelle Norris hasn't come back to haunt me thank God!) about a church group from South Korea that was abducted in Afghanistan. Here's a link to the story I've prayed for them & am concerned about it. The powers of this world (in this case represented by the Taliban) really hate it when anyone provides hope to those who need it. It is depressing.

34 and counting....

Turned 34 on Saturday! Yay! Woot! Yippee!

Went to see the Harry Potter movie, verdict: it was ok, but not great.

Spent the rest of the day relaxing with Pooks. Since she had been out of town for the week we used most of the day to just be together and enjoy each others company. It was a nice long realzing weekend.

Several freinds of mine are doing 'self-imporovement' type things. preparing for job changes, working on their education, things like that. I have wondered if I should be doing those things too, but I really like what I do, maybe not where I'm doing it, but I love the what part. If anything, going back to school for a masters would be worthwhile, but I look at the time and money it would take and I have my doubts about it. I know it's a good investment, but with other things to worry about...

on a good note, I've paid off my van woohoo!

Pooks homecoming

Yay! Pooks will be home late this afternoon/early evening. I can't wait to see her, I have missed her very much.

I turn 33 tomorrow, not much planned except to go see harry potter and hang out with Pooks. We're keeping the day for ourselves since we've been away so long. It will be nice.

Kinda a rough afternoon, feeling sleepy and tired.

Fighting off sleep...

I spent a restless night last night tossing, turning and getting up to screw around. It's a habit I've had for a long time, to fight going to sleep. I do it almost unconciously, and I don't know why. I think it's a bit worse today/this week with Helen gone. She gives me a good reason to get into bed. ;-)

So I'm at work this morning and have a headache from being overly tired. I'm keeping active and that seems to help with it.

I found the NPR podcast for CarTalk. It's a couple of guys who talk about evrything under the sun and sometimes even cars. It's a great show, it comes on Saturday mornings on your local public radio station.

While listening to the "All Things Considered" portion of NPR while driving home yesterday, the news guy said, "And now over to Michelle Norris." and at that moment my speakers (which are failing) cut out from the front of the car and started up in the back where Michelle Norris said, "Welcome to NPR, National Public Radio." It make me freak a little b/c it sounded like I now was driving around with Michelle Norris in my backseat... since she obviously had super ninja powers to do that, I imagined that the entire NPR news team was trying to kill me by attacking me from behind while I was driving down the road. I figured that if they did there probably wouldn't be much I could do against. So If you're ever attacked by NPR ninja's lead by super-ninja Michelle Norris, you're screwed.

Alone for awhile

This was a long weekend with an Independance Day Party w/ Idzeeboo and a Birthday party with the family. Then today I had to take Pooks to the airport at 5am this morning. She will be gone for a week in Atlanta on a freelance job. I miss her even though we've talked on the phone a couple of times.

I had a good breakfast with Dad and Wes after getting back from dropping Pooks off at the airport. Feeling quite beat after b-fast, I stayed home from work. It was a pretty relaxing day, but I had to keep myself up and do some chores around the house.

I've got Tenchi Muyo playing and am relaxing & doing laundry.

Online gaming and RL...

So bleh Patti's having problems again...

Bleh.

In other news, a couple of cool studies, done for IBM, about leadership in online games... http://www.seriosity.com/downloads/GIO_PDF_web.pdf (short Version) and http://www.seriosity.com/downloads/Leadership_In_Games_Seriosity_and_IBM.pdf (Long Version). They are both good reads if you are interested in the subject matter.

I've had fun working on the "blog" of several of the characters from World of Warcraft. It should be pretty cool and nicely in line with something I enjoy anyway. Fiendhammer's Journal...

I'm starting work on a couple of my other sites as well. Trying to make them into something that generates a little bit of revenue. We'll see how things go. So far I've got two customers for my simple hosting setup.
