Do you want to live forever?

Got into a long discussion with some people at church once about eternity. Someone said that the effect we have on our children and the people around us is one of the ways we live forever. I never aggreed with that b/c we are forgotten quickly. I thought of that b/c I was watched "FLCL" and then "Starship Troopers" while playing World of Warcraft tonight. "FLCL" was great as always, I've never seen a show that just hit's it's mark so well. Even tonight watching it again, I picked up on things I had missed before. In "Starship Troopers", the quote was, "Come on you apes! Do you want to live forever!?" Probably not, b/c everyone rushed headlong into hordes of charging giant bugs that ate a whole bunch of space marines.

Had a great weekend with Pooks and Tiaroo. Pooks got sick Sat. night and so I had them just stay over night. Sunday night though I bit down on an apple wrong and it went into a place on one of my teeth where the nerve is exposed and I was in so much pain it wasn't funny. I stayed up all night not being able sleep b/c of the pain. While ibuprophen numbed the pain, it turned into a dull buzzing so I could feel it coursing through my jaw while I tried to take my mind off of things. It's just not possible when you're dead tired but can't sleep b/c of pain. That screwed up my Monday too, making me even further behind at work.

I'm up late again. Nose is feeling funny like a cold is coming on. I got into bed and promptly all three cats tried to crawl on top of me. Maybe I should raise the air to make it a little warmer in here.

Hey what's that above me?

Pooks and I got to spend a relaxing night together tonight. It was fun to just hang-out and enjoy each others company. Just sitting and talking we wondered about the future, and made some plans and, of course, worried about money. We got some domain names so Pooks can work on her band t-shirt business. I've been researching internet banner ads... so I signed my blog up for the Google Adsense bar (above). I've gotta run the sitemapper tool too. It's lead me to realize I need to fix a lot of things on my site to make it a little more presentable. The google page makes me feel like my site is going through a job interview. I will be "inspected" in a day or two and they will let me know the results... Yeah, a job interview.

Everyone and their brother called/emailed/told me that apple is recalling power book batteries. Apple suckily, though, only owns up to it on their support page. No main page problems in Apple land. I like my macs very much though. Mainly b/c they are actually functional unix workstations. I'm still blogging from my linux box though. :-)

Pooks and I also got to talking about television/video over the internet. I've got an idea, a children's program. I've gotta spend some time writing before I start making it though. Something a little rough&adventurous. I think kids get short changed on the television they can watch these days. We'll see though, my past movie making experiences have been fun, but this would be something larger.

It's been a long week already.

Pooks and I have been going thorugh some things and so we've had a hard week. Sometimes miscommunication is the worst part of a relationship. That veil we have over our own eyes makes us see things that the other person didn't intend and we react on that. So it makes things hard.

On a good note though we're doing better, "the storm is over now." :-) a line from a Gospel song I like.

It's raining now and looking at the skyline it is nice. But I know the rear windows on my car are down. crap.

After having a happy night with Pooks & Maggy, I went home to program. I think I have figured out how to get sorted proxies in yum. I'm off tonight to help Dad with some computer problems. MMMMmmmm.... Chinese for dinner! :-)

Spent some time today cleaning out (and setting up imaps on dovecot) old emails. I ran across one from my ex-wife. It was weird reading it again b/c I had forgotten about it. It came in March and we sent a couple of messages back and forth. I had to spend a little time tracking down the messages b/c they were on my gmail, but the original message came in yahoo that I had forwarded to gmail. It made me feel a little sad, I remember feeling a little angry when I first got it, frustration and fear creeping in around the corners of a well ordered mind.

Well, ppl at work are getting itchy for this application I've been working on for too long. :-) It's taking way too much time to write and constant interruptions or snags along the way are making it take longer. I feel like I should be working harder at it, but don't have all the energy for it.

Woke up with a headache....

Serious headache this morning. Might have been related to my dream. Disturbing and intense, but not scary. Drank a lot of coffee and tried to get into work early but that didn't work. :-(

Plans, Plans, Plans, marriage, house, condo, school, where to live, how to live, jobs to take, jobs to leave. No, I'm not gonna break out into "Turn, Turn, Turn". But I do feel like I've been rotating long enough.

An old friend of mine has a new boyfriend. turn, turn, turn....

Wakey Wakey....

Ugh, serious headache this morning (it's now 7:30)... I think it might be a lack of caffeine b/c I usually have coffee in the mornings and I haven't had any for the past few days. So I made a big cup this morning.

Lot's of pictures are going into my digital camera and I'm loving it. I'll be spending some time this weekend getting a few of them uploaded. Some pics from the party and some from last night's moving adventure.

Pooks needed a washer and dryer and so found one on the Craigslist. She bought them from a couple of navy guys and me and Shanks helped her move it in (with a brief stop at my place for jambalaya & to get our scores on Dr. Phil's quiz 39 for me... Oprah is 38... I'll leave the philosophical implications to the readers) We got the washer in and then tried to get the drye in and fought with (well Shanks did) the dryer airhose before giving up and realizing that it just wasn't going to work. It was an aluminum coil and so it was making the dryer stick out too much and we couldn't compress it without crushing it. Then after about an hour of that we also realized she needed a different kind of plug. Crap. So New dryer hose and plug needed.

It's 7:53 EST now, and I'm still waiting for the coffee to kick in. I'm just gonna have to get going anyway.

Pooks and I talked a little about independance last night. How she admired my parents for instilling it in all of us, and kinda wished she was more like that. I think I'm only independant when I want to be... or maybe I like being independant too much, but need to lean on others occasionally.

I'm typing this on a new laptop(MacBook Pro 17") that Pooks got for me. I really love it and Her. 8:02am now, time to go...

Guess who got a new digital camera...
